Integrate presentation with distribution -
Connection with a provincial audience

I propose to create a body of paintings which are to be produced for a series of postage stamps. With this work my aim is to integrate presentation with distribution and by doing so establishing a connection with a provincial audience.

In many traditions minature watercolour painting have depicted various forms of social narrative. By making this work I intend to question the social standards inherent within modern communities whilst focusing particular awareness on societies economic history. Through a narrative idealization I am endeavouring to subvert these ’standards’ to create social reform.

The images I have attached are preliminary sketchs which aim to give an immediate impression of the formulation of my ideas. I am proposing to make twelve paintings which are then to be reduced in scale in the production of the stamps.
